General School Info: We believe God has given parents the primary responsibility to raise their children in “the nurture and admonition of the Lord,” (Ephesians 6:4) so they may be active participants in the mission of the Church. In carrying out this responsibility, parents and children, together with the Church, will feed on Christ through Word and Sacrament and serve Him in their daily lives.
Zion Lutheran School has existed for over 150 years to help parents accomplish this mission.

How we plan to fundraise for our garden:
Any specific dates for upcoming fundraisers:
❏ What kind of support do you have from your school community? Are you working on this alone? Or do you have a team? Had a work day on saturday, tore down the plastic, 3 other teachers and herself and the director and the principal... Definitely has support.
❏ When do you want to install your garden? Let’s work from there!
❏ Explain that we do not ship soil since it is so heavy and simply not sustainable or ecologically responsible to do so, but we do source it locally and provide them with a voucher for their soil. Make sure they are aware that they or someone from their school will need to pick up the soil.
c) Care and Maintenance
❏ Where do you plan to put your Woolly School Garden?
❏ What direction does the wall/fence face?
❏ How much sun does this wall/fence receive?
The wall/fence should receive at least 6 hours of sun. If the wall does not, they might consider a different spot. (If this is the only space they can hang the WSG, they could plant leafy greens, swiss chard, radishes, beets, broccoli… ?) Spigot close by.... gets at least 6 hours of sun.
❏ Will the garden be safe in this spot? Will there be soccer balls flying in to the garden?
❏ How close will the garden be to a water source?
❏ Who will water the garden? Will they water it over the summer as well? Will be part of the kids' education, and Mrs. Stewart... curriculum will be used.
❏ Will someone be teaching the curriculum to the students? Which grades will participate? YES.
d) Paying for the woolly school garden
❏ Do you have a fundraising strategy to raise $1000 for your Woolly School Garden? What is it? The flyer is GREAT. Will hand out to parents.... school starts AUGUST 17th HAVE BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT!!! CAN GET THAT OUT THEN....
❏ If the school has the $1000 already, skip to Payment/Ordering a WSG.
