General School Info: Giving thanks for the Earth, for food and for each other is an integral part of our daily practice. We believe a reverence for nature will create the environmentalists of the future, and the classroom reflects this. Through a seasonal cycle of activities in our small garden and throughout the neighborhood, we draw the children’s attention to the natural world around them. The stories teachers tell keep with the changing moods of the year, as well as the changing rhythms within each child.

Our Gardening Plan: This grant will help our young children make the connection from soil to seed to table, allowing them to experience the joy of eating food that they tenderly loved and cared for.  Every Thursday we invite families to bring a vegetable to add to the soup the children enjoy at snack time and including vegetables from our woolly garden will be a welcome addition and fun, learning experience.  Also, this grant will allow us to beautify the school landscape which is a compact space in a large city.
