General School Info: The Harriet Tubman Leadership Academy for Young Women will prepare young women for success in college and future careers in an environment that is tailored to stimulate theirintellectual curiosity and to address their developmental needs. For more info, check out our website!

Our Gardening Plan: Our plan is to install the Woolly Garden below the elevated basketball court so that we can use a gravity drip irrigation system to water the garden. This south facing site receives several hours of full sun per day and also has additional water source and hose spigot for back up if needed.  To the west (left) of the basketball court area is where the school is planning to expand the garden.  We currently use our greenhouse for practical teaching tool in our science & health class curriculums.   Our plan would be to expand this effort with the Woolly gardens so that more of the girls can participate.  With the Woolly Gardens, we expect to be able to include all grades of science/health students (6th-12th), which a specific focus on the middle school girls.  On America Recycles Day we'll be kicking off our much anticipated Environmental Action Team.  This is the team that will be designated as the garden caretakers.  It's anticipated that interest will grow and a spin-out, garden-focused club will likely emerge.
